Company's Coming

Here in Daytona Beach, we are going to have a visitor later today.  Tropical Storm Beryl is coming.  She's bringing rain and lots of wind too.  We didn't invite her but she's kind of rude and insisted on just coming regardless.  Geez...

That red line includes me!!

Last night we took a ride to the beach.  The waves were rough and there was such a haze in the air from the humidity and the sand blowing.  Can't imagine what it will look like tonight.  The news reported that they pulled over 70 people out of the water yesterday who got caught in the undertow.  Dumb asses!

I didn't take this picture but it's of Daytona Beach and exactly how it looked last night.

Bruce and I think we should find a bar and have a few drinks to celebrate our first storm in Florida!  What else are we gonna do besides sit home and watch the weather channel?  You can do that in a bar!  Cheers Beryl! We can't wait for you to go home already!

I'll let you all know how it goes.

  1. Welcome to Florida, Bouncin' Barb! Luckily the weather geeks predict a normal hurricane season for us which is a whole lot better than the way it's been the last 10 years. Hunker down and ride out the storm. It won't last long and at least you lucky guys are getting some rainfall! We're parched over here!

  2. don't you just hate it when people (and storms) just drop by...
I can't even imagine what it's like to live in a place with real weather like that. Sounds kind of scary to me! Hope all is well with you. Storms and otherwise.

  6. Although I'm sure you will be fine do stay safe and avoid taking any risks Barb, I hope everything is alright over there. Florida definitely is renound for its storms and such so they're well equipped for things like this.

  7. I hope it goes well. A tropical storm isn't as bad as say, a hurricane (I think) but neither are very pleasant.

  10. I saw the Tropical Storm Warning on the TV, but it didn't give a location. We've had rain on and off this afternoon. Beware Beryl. Barb will kick your ass.

  12. Dearest Barb,
Wow, take care of yourself. We have worries for typhoon every fall. Some years ago, couple of my neighbor's veranda were blown off.
    Love you always, xoxo Miyako*

  16. Your first Tropical Storm since the move wow I am so jealous.........lol
Ok not really I wouldn't want to be in any type of storm as storms scare the hell out of me when they are bad......

  17. Look on the bright side: even though a Tropical Storm is coming, you live in Florida!
Where cockroaches fly and summers make you feel as if you live inside a bundt cake.
    Still, there IS Disney.
Seriously, I saw the news and my empathy alarm went off when I said, "Man, that sucks."
    Stay dry.

  24. Sorry I'm late, and I hope you both survived that unwanted visitor ! Tell me, why are they always given women's names?! How stupid of those people to be going in the ocean at a time like this. Did you get storms when you lived down in the Love Shack?! Wonder if those aliens are still living down there?! Take care my awesome friend.

  25. Beryl?? Really? Beryl?? They must be running out of super cool names like: Jessey. Now that's an awesome storm name right there.

Hope you made it through ok!!
